FMHS Tech Club will be hosting summer camps during May 30th - June 2nd: Details are below. Space is very limited, sign up soon!

 

For incoming 4th to 7th graders:

    LEGO Spike: Morning 9am-12pm   

    Intro to Programming Scratch: Afternoon 1pm-4pm

For incoming 7th - 12th graders:

    3D Print Modeling with CAD: Morning 9am-12pm

    FTC Robotics: Afternoon 1pm-4pm 

LEGO Spike:

Open to incoming 4th thru incoming 7th grade students. No experience necessary! Students will have a blast working with LEGO Spike robots.  Working in engineering teams, they will design, build and program their robot, culminating in a fun competition.  The camp will be staffed by Flower Mound High School Tech Club students and parent volunteers. Drop off map is below. 

Intro to Programming Scratch

Open to incoming 4th thru incoming 7th grade students. No experience necessary! Camp will introduce Scratch, a high-level block-based visual programming language, using an Edison robot to perform specific actions. Students will learn the basics of Scratch and take home their own Edison robot. Continue programming all summer long! The camp will be staffed by Flower Mound High School Tech Club students and parent volunteers. Drop off map is below. 

3D Print Modeling with CAD:

Students will use Inventor to learn Computer Aided Design (CAD) used by FMHS to design robots. Come learn topics such as structural and mechanical design in a fun and practical way. Continue practicing all summer long with take home flash drive, a self-designed 3D print, and a laser-cut name plate. The camp will be staffed by Flower Mound High School Tech Club students and parent volunteers. Drop off map is below.

FTC Robotics:

Open to incoming 7th thru incoming 12th grade students.  No experience needed! Students will have hands-on fun with custom-built FTC robots.  Working in engineering teams, they will design, build, program and drive the robot in a fun competition. The camp will be staffed by Flower Mound High School Tech Club students and parent volunteers. Drop off map is below.

FAQ

Where does the fundraised money go?

The income generated from Summer Camps will help pay for the FMHS Tech Club expenses for the 2023-24 school year. This includes TSA (Technology Student Association) and FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics programs.

 

1. How do I register?

Click the above link and fill out the form. We will accept the first 28 - 30 students (depending on the camp) who register for each camp. Camp fees are due at registration via credit card.

 

2. How do I drop off my child?

Using the above map, follow the arrow. At the doors, robotics students will show you where to go. We will request a proof of identity when you drop off and pick up.

 

3. Is the room secure? Will my child be safe?

Yes! No one will enter or exit without permission from the adult in charge. Students who need to leave the room to use the restroom with be escorted by two people of the same gender. No students will be separated from the group. Your child will be supervised at all times.
